Tweet by PolkaWorld:

 It's super sad to say that PolkaWorld's proposal was rejected, and we've been halted operations for half a month now. This is the first time we've had to pause in the four years and three months since we started in 2019. All of these changes happened after
@Polkadot
  initiated #OpenGov. Based on what we understand about Polkadot's mechanisms,
@gavofyork
 's intention with OpenGov was to make Polkadot governance more decentralized and democratic, while also making the Treasury more efficient and transparent. However, the most controversial aspect right now seems to be treasury management under OpenGov. It's affecting long-term contributors and organizations the most because many are being rejected by the treasury and are leaving the Polkadot ecosystem.

1. In the original governance system, a "professional" council was elected by DOT holders. This council had expertise in certain areas and would use their knowledge to evaluate proposals. I think this approach shouldn't be scrapped, it should be integrated into the OpenGov system. Personally, we believe decentralization only works for the "informed", it's not for everyone, no offense meant.

2. PolkaWorld interviewed some DOT holders who believe that applicants converting treasury funds into cash is harmful to them, so they tend to vote against all proposals. Maybe the treasury should consider other forms of funding, like #USDT or other tokens.

3. All DOT holders need to realize that the treasury exists to empower and enrich the ecosystem. If OpenGov results in the loss of talented teams, then we might be making a mistake.

4. We should take a more optimistic view of all these changes. OpenGov has its issues, but it's also an upgrade and optimization for Polkadot. We should adapt to ever-changing rules and guide the system onto the right path, rather than just walking away. Let's give it some time to see how it improves.

5. PolkaWorld will update its proposal based on community suggestions. People should cast their votes genuinely rather than just following the herd.
